When we think of worship, most of us imagine singing, praying, or lifting our hands in church. But worship can take many forms — even through writing.
Romans 12:1 tells us, “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship.” For writers, that offering can be the words we place on a page.
When you write, you don’t just record your story. You proclaim God’s story in your life. A simple journal entry about a tough season could one day encourage a grandchild who feels alone. A reflection on God’s goodness could inspire someone else to trust Him more deeply. Even writing your personal prayers leaves a trail of faith that future generations can follow.
Your writing doesn’t need to be perfect to be worship. It only needs to be honest. When you write from the heart and dedicate your words to the Lord, they become more than ink on paper — they become an offering.
So before you write, pause to pray. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words. Then write boldly, knowing your words can bless future generations.
Dear friend, your words can touch eternity. They can echo God’s love far beyond your lifetime. That’s the beauty of writing as worship — it doesn’t just bless you; it blesses everyone who encounters your words.
So write boldly, write faithfully, and write for the glory of God.
